Meta Information
A story of a swordman who fought up as a special warrior for only private missions with special treats. He always had this one way of life of ignoring if it's right or wrong and only ask 'when, where and who'. But his new journey will be probably the last, as he is chased by many. Nothing special, nothing redeeming, wouldn't have a chance to win an Oscar (haha, that would be fun), but it's good for a usual Donnie Yen-movie. Lightly entertaining pop-corn thing.

Hmm... I thought about the rating of this film for a while... As it has really small moments that were nice as it had Zhao Wei in it, and a pretty nice looking characters. But than I thought to myself again about their... almost shameful acting. =\ I rated this movie 1 after all...
well, another waste of time. I dislike desert like scaneries and fights all over... but if this movie's purpose was this - it wins my oscar :P. Anyway, I'll make it shorter than review but I'll sum some characters: Main guy: Was mysterious, cold, cool and handsome while 'had hard past, fell in love and believes in battle ways but as time pass he learns more and more about himself and life' was lacking at his expressions. Main (XD NOT REALLY MAIN, ya?) girl: Zhao Wei was pretty ok here, I'm a bit disappointed of some moments... but like Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland -- when surrounded by such a cast... even he wont be in place. To sad she got her level down to the cast and not the cast tried to be good as she. The desert supporting pank: *cool expression, desert music, some windy effects - and BOOM here I AM!*... ya, that's pretty much the character... nothing more and nothing less. Villain girl: poor effects can't build up a character - directors must face this fact. Somewhat Villain guy: ah... sad. Just by the way he scream... react it's seen he's pushing himself sooo hard, poor thing. But I guess that somewhat made his character... scared and idiot. I think he was suited for his role. Nah, I won't even talk about the fights that just were fake and looked unwell... nor the poor skill of the one who even thought of this movie (no, I believe that with better actors and directing any idea could be a masterpiece). Already heard, have seen and understood what this movie wanted to tell us in so many other films... all that made me rate it 1. Just no wonders. |
