@hideki - everyone's opinions are different i could give you examples of when i thought he did a brilliant job as an actor but it doesn't mean that you'll think the same. I think that he did especially well in Tokyo Dogs and Crows Zero.
I think that people like him too much for his looks and not his acting ability but hey both together is a good thing.
After reading a lot of comments I'm a bit shocked with how many people detest him, but hey each to their own.

@malice I hardly doubt you can get away with saying this. If a film's bad then the only film's -main actor- probably has something to do with it.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for -examples- for where Mr. Oguri's acting wasn't total garbage.

It doesn't matter which role he's playing, I'm enjoyning it.
A really good actor.
Someone who have to keep his acting. (:

//edit: Only the fact that Shun played so many different roles really good proves his acting skills.

The way he acted in Smile was so awesome.. His role of antihero was totally perfect.

@gogukyou binbou danshi is great, maybe you didn't understand the story, but his personage is a poor but kind man,who did his best for his friends..Oguri shun was absolutely great as Kazumi and I think binbo danshi and crows zero are good examples that proves his acting skills.
and yea, tajoumaru was bad, really bad but isn't his fault.

dropped hitsuji no uta, hana yori dango and binbo danshi because of him. Oguri is annoying so much and lack any acting skills. In tajoumaru i feel ashamed for this movie standing near kurosawa's masterpiece.
