Synopsis

Matsubara Yoshimi has just divorced. She raises alone Ikuko, age six. She decides to rent a bigger apartment. But the place turns out to be unsanitary. Strange noises resound from the upper floor. Then, from the ceiling, water falls and slowly invades the flat. During this time, Yoshimi's life is wearing away, she can't find work, her husband wants to take the child back... slowly, she becomes afraid and her worst nightmares take form.

I would agree that this film is more depressing than scary, but I really really liked it as a horror film overall. Especially the ending, it chilled me.

the daughter (ikuko) was so adorable. i dont think it was scary but it was kind of sad, and a little depressing.
