Aoto Junko is working in a famous law firm. Her boss is Serizawa Gou and even though he enjoys attention, he'd rather have it come to him itself than work for it. One lucky day, they have a case of a closed room murder, where they meet Enomoto Kei. He is interested in the way to open a locked room, not so mcuh in murder. But still, he helps the lawyers to solve the case. And it will only be the first of many...

Another classical detective drama, where the one who solves the cases has a special talent and they use it to solve cases. The good thing about this drama is the character of Enomoto. It's just fun to look at him. I also think I would have liked more developement between him and Junko. There were signs of Enomoto getting more involved with her, but not as fas as the audience would like to see it.

The ending was really nice, and even during the series I wasn't bored, because the cases were never the same. It was about unlocking the rooms in many different ways, so it was enjoyable.

So basically, I would give this drama a good rating if there were more character developement, but seeing how it is a classical detective drama, I will gladly give it 3* for keeping me entertained. Watch it especially if you like Ohno as an actor, because if there is an idol who can act, then it's probably him.

Japan produces many procedural crime dramas and while some are really good, many aren't. This dramas has two components that almost stopped me from watching.

a) It's not about police detectives but a security specialist and two lawyers The premise is that every case is a closed room murder... which sounds a little too repetitive.

b) The hero is played by an idol. I'm a little biased about idol heroes.

I'm glad I watched it anyway. Although there obviously was a fixed pattern to each case, it wasn't predictable at all, even if the perpetrator was obvious from the start as well. Each case brought something unique which made it a lot of fun to see where each episode was going.

Despite being an idol, Ohno did good, too. I liked that it wasn't just about a genius sleuth but about three people who all had different functions in solving crime. The security specialist for example sometimes didn't solve everything because he wasn't interested in finding the culprit but into solving the closed room mystery.

Cinematography and music added to the unusual feeling, so that the drama never became draggy or predictable despite following the 'murder of the week' kind of pattern.

Both feature a professional who helps solve cases with his expertise. One is about a physics professor who help the police on various cases, while the other is about a locksmith who helps the police solve locked room mysteries. Both professionals are uninterested in the culprit and attempt to solve only the mystery of how the crime was committed. The rest is left up to the police detectives.

Ohno is such a great actor in this one; having such a blank look on his face and yet deliver these complicated lines is very impressive!
It took me a little time getting through this drama but it was a good ride and the ending was perfect!
