Choe Bo Na works as the assistant director at the same place for 5 years. She is overlooked and not recognized. One day she meets a man on the beach and buys a whole set of videotapes that should advise her on how to take advantage of men and succeed in their world. She meets korean star Lee Seung Jae and decides to use to get to the top.
Bo Na lives for her job. She works for a movie maker and would love to direct a movie herself - just that she is way too hardworking. Everybody gives their work to her and she can't even take care of her looks. Nobody really cares about her, as long as she's doing her job. Until one day, when she meets Dr. Swalski, who sells her a series of videos that introduce her into how she can make a guy do stuff for her. And with that, her career finally starts to take off.
The beginning is very funny with how she actually finds Dr. Swalski and how the video is built up. Also, the character of Bo Na is easy to accept, since she is a very average girl. Of course they had to add some serious business as the highlight of the movie - because in Korea it seems to be a must-have for every comedy movie - but I didn't dislike it as much as I disliked it in other movies. Here, the approach was well made. The only thing I could really note as a big disadvantage is the length of the movie. At some point it just got hard to keep on watching without taking a break. For a movie it's not that long, but for that kind of storyline it dragged at some part.
Still, if you want a silly korean movie, this one is it! I'd say it's maybe one of the best comedy movies from Korea I've seen so far. And it's one I would gladly recommend you to watch as well, which is rare. In this case, well deserved 4 stars!
