As someone whose never seen the first season of Hero, season 2 is a pleasant surprise that shows why the Japanese continue to be good with workplace/investigational dramas.

Hero 2 is an easy watch even if you haven't seen the first season. And while the show has its smaller cases at fist, the overarching case still gets movement and development.

And while the writing is good, it's really the editing and acting that bring it all together. The group of prosecutors and their assistants get along well with great comedic timing and each character infused with their own personalities. And while a large chunk of the show at the beginning are interviews, the editing cuts quickly between all the prosecutors, keeping moments from stretching too long and becoming boring, as comedy intersperses with serious moments.

A fun watch, a recommend for any fan of the Japanese procedural dramas.

Didn't have the same magic as season one, imo. Stories kind of felt like a rehash. Also, the lack of Matsu Takako (not to mention her chemistry with Kimutaku) was a big downer for me. It just wasn't the same, that's all.

this is much better than the old 'Hero'!
Although I'm a big fan of Matsu Takako, the old series is kinda boring, over all. I'm glad I watched Hero2.

I really liked the first season and I was apprehensive at best before starting this one. When I finished I did not regret my decision to watch this and I was not applauding my decision also.

This installment adds nothing to the series, nothing at all. The old characters are seemingly all the same as they were in the previous season and new ones are like the old characters with a new polish.

Not a bad watch if you want to feel nostalgia but don't want to watch the same thing again.

I did not feel Asagi-san was a bad choice/decision but I'd much preferred if Amamiya-san was (also) here.

But... I totally don't remember what was the first season about! It was so long ago!

I don't hate the series, but I hate it when they break up old couples or partnerships.. :( I just can't forgive them for leaving Amamiya behind ;(

After watching the first episode I think they are doing fine. Give it a try.
