A young boy finds an old document buried next to a very old oak tree. As soon as he touches the document he is being thrown into the past, the Sengoku era, where he meets a beautiful princess and her samurai.
A very nice film with an intersting concept: a little boy (and later his parents too) who travel through time, back to the Sengoku era of Japan.
The ending was touching, and I wanted to believe the love story between the princess and Matabe would have a 'happily-ever-after' conclusion. I loved Kusanagi Tsuyoshi's acting and the way he portrayed Matabe. Aragaki Yui was great in her role, too, and the little kid, Shinichi was adorable.
Also, the scenes where Shinichi showed the new technologies (e.g. the bicycle, his dad's camera, their car) to the people of that era were hilarious. I couldn't help but laugh with their reactions~
