Ju Yu Rin has lived all over the world with her father, scraping together money and often running from their various debts. She speaks multiple languages and is even a skilled tour guide on her current home of Jeju Island -- but one thing Yu Rin is especially talented at is lying. She can scam her way out of nearly any situation. Seol Gong Chan, the youngest hotel director in the country, has spent the last few years searching for his long lost cousin in order to grant his dying grandfather's last wish. After a fugitive Yu Rin dives in front of his car in her attempt to escape debtors, Gong Chan considers her an extreme nuisance, but then he discovers her talent for lies. Knowing his grandfather is running out of time, he asks Yu Rin to pose as his cousin in exchange for pay. Everything goes according to plan.. until Gong Chan's thrilled grandfather makes a miraculous recovery. Now Yu Rin has to keep up the lie, which normally isn't a problem for her -- but she's starting to fall in love with her new 'cousin'.
I watched this mainly for Lee Dong Uk (Wook). A few years ago I started it, but didn't get very far. Then after sometime...same thing happened again, and so I really put it aside. This time though, I stuck with it and by the end of the 1st episode I was really into it. I literally slapped myself for not having stuck with it earlier...but maybe, I am just at the stage now where I can appreciate things for what they are instead of nitpicking. That said, its enjoyable. There are cute personalities all around, and its a fun change to see a pleasant attitude from the "wealthy" family.
Lee Dong Uk did a really good job here, I can say though..that he really has come a long way because right now he is soo much better. Same can be said for Lee Jun Gi, except he wasn't as good as Wookie was back in the day, but now he's pretty darn good.
I understand that some will get frustrated with Lee Da Hae's character, but its bearable...at least until the last 3 episodes where there is too much of a push to make her a martyr of sorts. This is where things began to drag because there was just so much focus placed on making her this super selfless individual, that the storytelling part came to a close halt...until about the last 5 minutes of the very last episode, where there was a mad dash to patch things up.
Anyway, if you like cute/funny/romances then give it a try. I don't regret it at all.
