Suits is yet another remake, drawing from a good amount of source material. The end result is fairly mixed but does skew towards the positive.
The strong point is the cast. Jang Dong Geon and Park Hyeong Shik take the lead roles and manage to play them well; there's bromance, sarcasm and power all expertly portrayed. Jin Hui Gyeong plays a powerful, competent female CEO who easily proves that her character can play with, and beat, the men. The rest of the supporting cast also are successful.
And it's to the cast's credit that they elevate more weakly written characters. Some of the actions undertaken by the characters make little sense or are super frustrating. It's manageable because of the actors. And while the cases can be a little bland, the firm dynamics and power plays, especially towards the end, allow for some character growth.
It's by far not the best show or remake around and there are flaws but it's an enjoyable watch for dry spells and slumps.
