by kirtil: Shaolin Soccer they have a very funny "burst into song" moment when 2 mains meet Flirting Scholar if I remember correctly there is a scene where Stephen Chow another scholar does something like battle of the bands or dance off or something. Zatouichi There was a scene where farmers in a rice field makes music/performance art. And let's not forget the bizarre burst into dance scene at the end. Tone Deaf Clinic Trailer shows everyone singing so maybe a musical? Speedy Scandal I remember Hwang Jeong Nam trying to be a singer but don't actually remember how much singing/performance there was in the movie.
Skip Beat - not a musical. Couple of episodes show recording of a music clip and there is singing and dancing during those episodes and that's it. this refers to both tv series and anime. Oishii Gohan - not a musical. only has 2 scenes where people lip sync and dance to old songs. Cat Street - not a musical. During one scene main acts in a music clip. Scene was extremely strong in manga and not bad in drama version and made an impression on me so I mentioned that but there is nothing else musical-ly about it as far as I remember.
@bluenvision cheers for your effort and personal thanks for starting this list. Hopefuly more people will help in expanding these.
One minor point tho, these are not about musicals; they are musicals. Only title here that would be about musicals might be the TV series aptly named the musical.
We can also include nodame cantabile to anime. And I think K-on has a second season too.
I am not sure if (or indeed how much) including titles that has musical scenes would bloat the list but here are some more:
Shaolin Soccer they have a very funny "burst into song" moment when 2 mains meet Flirting Scholar if I remember correctly there is a scene where Stephen Chow another scholar does something like battle of the bands or dance off or something. zatouichi There was a scene where farmers in a rice field makes music/performance art. And I have some titles for the possibly musicals confirmation pile:

The Happiness Of The Katakuris - They burst into song and communicate via singing etc. 100% musical for me but not sure how to categorize it.
