Well, I've backed up both the files and the database so we're clear if anything went wrong. Finally, we have a shining new messaging system that looks and works the same all across the website.
There are so many changes, I'll quickly go over them. You now add / edit all messages in place. You can reply to people either from your wall or from your inbox page. Even though the sent message will appear under the message you've replied to, it was posted on the other user's page. You can specify whether a message will be private or not, but you can also edit it later. Same for the dramas / people / topics pages. You can edit your posts. You can edit all your messages, there's no time limit at the moment. A delete function will be added later. The bbcode has been enhanced with some new tags like 'left', 'quote', 'spoiler'. The 'left' tag aligns to the left, the quote tag shows a quote -- but I haven't stylised it yet, so it shows nothing at the moment, and the spoiler tag shows a spoiler. It has two modes: either you write ['spoiler']I love you! <3['/spoiler'] (without the single quotes) and you get something like I love you! <3 or you write ['spoiler=I have something to tell you >_>']I love you! <3['/spoiler'] (without the single quotes) and you get something like I love you! <3 You can combine tags and do some pretty wicked stuff like: crazy alignment Furthermore, you can mark a portion of text in your message and click a bbcode to get it wrapped. It's really useful if you want to make a portion of text italic, or if you're simply lazy, like myself. I've written up a proper documentation for the bbcodes, and I'll add it later. These are the changes, for now. As always, I'd happy if you reported any bugs or weird things happening. I tested this on Firefox, Opera and Chrome, so I think it works on most browsers. Edit: many many thanks to my brother who has implemented the new bbcode functionality. |

As always, thanks for your hard work. (oh also your brother's) *0* I loved the new edit-anytime system. *_* I keep making typos so this will be a lifesaver for people like me. *_* |

Yay, I like this new edit thing. I'm the type of person who likes to reply to almost everything the other person mentions, so sometimes I'll be in the middle of typing and forget what else the other person talked about and then I'd have to go back and look, etc. This way is awesome :)
Also more bbcode is always welcome :) |
