I nearly always prefer drama to anime and watch anything that sounds interesting, though I am pretty partial to romantic comedy, office/work, medical and mystery/thriller series. Not such a huge fan of asian movies as I've found few that have really impressed me (most of them are animated, like the Ghibli movies), so I'm happy with sticking with tv serials =3 This account is mainly to list Japanese dramas and movies I've seen. I'm a plot and character driven person so poor/cardboard characters are a turn-off for me. I am also quite particular with pacing, not too fond of draggy intervals where nothing happens, and don't like an overload of melodrama (hence I've not really found many kdramas I like). In terms of taste I choose by synopsis and actors I follow as I've found that just because something is popular doesn't mean that it's good.

My current 'project' is to tackle to NHK Taigas. I actually love historical shows, esp. for english movies like The Duchess, Troy, Sense & Sensibility etc... but I've just been too busy/lazy to include the jdramas as well... I've become so used to 6-12 eps that looking at 50 is like woah~~.
