Synopsis

Matsumoto Sakutarou is an adult man engaged to a beautiful woman, Fujimura Ritsuko. One day he happens to listen a tape which brings him back the memories of his first love, Hirose Aki. In a small town in the south of Japan in 1980s Aki and Saku, who have been classmates since junior high school, fall in love. They begin recording an audio diary and enjoy summer holidays together. Soon Aki find out that she suffers from leukemia, but Saku wants to take her to Australia, a place where she's always wished to go, before she dies...

Lots of similarities with My Girl & I. But maybe better.

Actually thought this was better than drama-series, which was a bit too long maybe.
