Answer Me 1988 follows its predecessors in being a successful story about youth and the trials of growing up.

This time around, the focus is more on families, with the parents stepping in to play a larger role. And it works out great, as the relationships become more meaningful because this isn't just about five families who happen to live on one street, it's more about one large family who happen to live in different houses.

The acting is great, with the ensemble cast melding well. From the veteran parents to the new-actor kids all embrace their roles; willing to do what's necessary to make the characters heartwarming.

The writing, like all the shows in this series, knows how to create a world that's fulfilling, making even small moments seem monumental. The slice-of-life approach gives everyone a chance to grow and the time-jumps shown in an effective way so that it isn't too jarring. It makes you yearn to have lived on this street with everyone.

The only weak point is that each episode's run time is long, so there's the occasional moments where the plot slows down. But because it often picks the pace up again, and because everyone is just so lovable, it's a small point in a large, successful show.

A definite recommend.

I cried so much.

The director wanted to show us,
"You shouldn't wait for the right time. Do it now. Dont't wait, because life is not waiting for you."

Thank you Sin Won Ho-sunbae.
Thank you for showing us the real life.
Thank you for showing us the most important things in life..

We should care about our family more.
We should care about our friends more.
We shouldn't wait for the right time.

This drama..
.. will be my favourite one until I die.

Please watch this drama carefully. Don't care about "who's daek sun's husband?".. This is not the point. You will understand the real point if you watch it carefully..

What a shame. The whole husband hunt thing ruined it for me. Aside from that, I loved the families, the characters and the way their friendship. But there were too many loopholes and
it seems like the scriptwriter forgot the story she was telling. I hope if there's a next Reply series they'll just stop the whole husband thing. Not because of who was the husband but the way they approached it

This drama was outstanding. There were so many warm scenes that absolutely touched my heart. And it was different from your typical Korean drama.. (for which the writer has received a lot of cursing...)
Actually, I was #TeamJunghwan from the beginning but DS-Taek couple is too freaking adorable for me to ever dislike them. Even so I'm left satisfied with the ending (Though I can't see that husband as Taek at all lol). Anyway, there was much more to this drama than the love triangle.

I'm happy that this drama happened. I got so attached to the characters that I started wishing for it to never end...
Goodbye, Reply 1988 ❤

This drama is great [2]

But I think they should stop fixating on the husband hunt. "Who is the husbant?" might generate suspence but while they are trying to keep secrecy until the end they fail to develop the relationship.

and the relationship between DS and TK was very cute. Also JH's narrative was completly lost after ep 18 ... In general i wished for a better developed closure for some characters.
