Mrs. Cop is a show that started off being advertised as one type and resulted in another, although that isn't to say that the show failed, just that what was advertised and what was aired were different.
The plot follows Choe Yeong Jin, a single mother and cop on the Violence Crime Team whose trying to balance raising her young daughter with the demands of a stressful job. And that's the story we get for the first few episodes, as Yeong Jin succeeds and fails on both fronts.
And then the story changes, becoming more focused on the cop aspect with her team and their cases coming into view. On one hand, it's great in that the team interaction is entertaining, and the characters well-written. But it's not quite the story we started off with, and there's a missing potential. We have interesting cases that taper off to ones unrelated to Violent Crimes and our Big Bad isn't really that Bad.
If you're looking for a show with family and the tough balancing act of that with career this isn't it. But if you enjoy a good cop show with a great team, it's definitely worth a shot.
