This is one of those dramas where I rated it higher than it probably deserves simply because I love it despite all of its flaws. The story is lovely and moving, though and times it draaaaaagged (I suppose that’s to be expected due to its length). To be fair, for such a long drama it did manage to stay interesting throughout. I would say the interesting-to-drag ratio remained consistent as opposed to some shows that start off with a bag and Peter out later on (not the case here).
I loved how the layers of stories all fit in together. It was interesting to have a heroin who was both strong and powerful and at the same time timid and somewhat of a push-over (made it all the more satisfying when she came back as herself to kick ass). The soundtrack was great and so fitting. The scene where Su Su walks to the tower with the song playing in the background still gives me goosebumps (SUCH a well done scene). The graphics were alright…pretty good for a TV show but definitely fake-looking most of the time. I do feel like a lot of the characters did not get a satisfying conclusion (in particular: Mo Yuan) but It was just SO sweet I don’t know how you could watch this drama and not fall in love with it.
