In both you see Johnie's actors as young boys who are discovering what they want to do in with their life. The one story is about food and the other about wine.

Both dramas have to do with a determined person who wants to become the best Italian chef, and all the obstacles they face to make their dreams come true.

Watched this purely bc of Kitamura.

I've watched it a long time ago and lately I've been wondering why did I give it 3 stars. Probably it's because supporting actors were good. Kitamura was brilliant in my opinion. He totally had this Italian vibe here.

BENE! Bambino é quase um manual de Como virar um cozinheiro num restaurante japonês de comida italiana.

Without Yonamine, I would have dropped that drama without trying to finish it someday, without any hesitation. That drama has a basic story and the end is guessed at soon as you started it. It’s boring from the beginning to the end.
Also, I hated Ban. So much. He cries and complains throughout the drama, arrrgh! It was enjoyable to me when he was martyred by his colleagues, really. Ban is now my # 1 in the “Top of the characters that I wanted to slap in a drama”. Time will tell if one day he will be dethroned... huhu.
But, I'm a big fan of Kazuki Kitamura, and I loved his character, that lovely smiling Italian guy, so that the only reason for why I continue that drama to the end.

I can't believe this didn't win award for the best drama/lost to proposal daisakusen. It's one of the most realistic dorama I have ever seen. Like..you don't feel that distance between real world and watching a dorama. Nothing feels fake here. Awsome. Don't you agree?
