Kinomoto Sakura is a fourth grader and lives with her father and big brother. One day, she finds a mysterious book, called 'The Book Of Clow' which seals all of the cards that Clow Reed, a great magician, created. But when she opens it up, they all jump out and run away. Now, the guardian of the book tells Sakura that from now on she must capture all of the cards.

With the help of her best friends, she searches for them and discovers ways to seal them again.

Card Captor Sakura is standing in the top of my anime history list. I've rewatched it a few times, and still, I can't get bored of it. It's still, after 6 years, standing in the top of my favourite animes too.

The anime evolves around a normal girl called Sakura. Because she broke the seal of the cards, which flew away right after that, she have to bring them back. Every episode takes you with her, capturing a card. One by one. Though it might sound easy, it definitely isn't. A rival shows up, who will become one of her dearest friends (and her lover). Later on, when she collected them all, the story takes a twist, and she suddenly has to become the mistress of cards, making them her own.

If you like animes with magical girls, it's a must-watch. To not drag you into the 'this is so boring'-thoughts, Card Captor Sakura isn't just about capturing the Clow Cards, it's also about Sakura's personal life, and thus also her love life. A sweet and cute romance.

The voice actors did a great job on this anime, I personally think. Though Syaoran is a boy, the voice actress (yes, you heard that correctly) sounded like a boy. I didn't know it was a woman, until I've looked it up.

I loved the personalities in this anime. (I didn't expect else from CLAMP, actually) The most important of the characters, in my eyes, should be the personality: how clear you can draw the image of their personalities. And I've got a clear image of all the characters, that's one of the main reasons I loved this anime.

The drawings are nice as well. No special computer effects to make them look better or anything. I loved them. I can't explain why. It's like asking me why I like the colour blue.

It might seem like an old anime, which some people aren't fond of, and I have to admit: Yes, I agree it's an old one. However, this one is one of the most successful animes ever. Wonder why? Go watch it and maybe you'll understand. It's a pure classic.

Old, but gold.

The two are very different in the way they approach the magical girl theme, yet one can enjoy both stories that center around magic and fantastical events regardless of this fact.
