Synopsis

Set in a particularly troubled period during the Joseon Dynasty, where the ministers and other authorities try to grab as much power as is left from the weakened royalty while poverty and the numbers of angry peasants grow more and more. During these times the King relies on his loyal subjects, the Black Cloud Swords, a group of soldiers that operates in the shadows of the political spectrum and that is led by no one else but the King's devoted childhood friend Lee Baek Rok. The king tries to gain as much power as possible back, and to do so he needs to destroy Kang Chi Sun faction through various intrigues and military operations without letting Kang know that it is the King himself who has plotted against him. Kang Chi Sun on the other hand has his loyal son in law, the brother of the Captain of the Black Cloud Swords on his side, and thus a war between the two brothers breaks out as they both try to uphold their positions and fidelity while in the centre of the two stands a beautiful concubine, Jeong Yeon, who is related to them from the past.

Wow. :O the fighting sequels were quite epic for TV ones :D And the story was okay, too. I mean, yeah...I kind of grew fond of the fighting sequels and the intrigues and the different ploys involved. :D And best of all just 12 eps :D 4/5 from me.

Dropped this a while back but regained interest when I realized this is like that 300 movie from a few years ago. That movie as well as this drama was about manly men killing other not quite as manly men, all of them half naked and everything in slow motion.

I watched the first episode, and it looks very promising. It has nice action, it's gory, it's hot, it has nice graphics, but I fear that the plotline won't be too outstanding. It's been done to death in sageuks. But anyway, I think I'll keep on watching this, also particularly since it's one of the few korean dramas that doesn't extend to 20 episodes.
