Well.. actually.. one of the negative messages not only on this one, but also at some others movies is "You can never be loved, unless you are looking extremely beautiful (or at least like a model) /all the time- you never get fat or sick- never bleed/", which is ridiculous, 'cause how many people can look like like models (all the time?)? Let's say 5-10 % from humanity? So what about the rest?
If you are not from those guys- will you be used like Hanna and her friend?
She had a talent.. she worked hard- yet no one noticed that and no one respected her hard work, her gift and her motivation.
People all are different looking, but.. Hanna was only used and never really loved or treated as human being, until she "became" beautiful. Before that no one really cared about her personality or feelings. The only people for her were her only girl-friend and her senile father. The rest of humanity ditched, humaliated her and would not care for her even if she disappear from this world.

That's one bothersome thing about this movie.
But the most bothersome one is... this parts where she suffered in the movie looked like the world I know ; the cheesy parts were the ones where the world looked a bit loving and more forgiving.

I think, movie's message is "love yourself, but work hard for getting better", something like that.
I liked it in my own way, hah.

ps: I don't approve any plastic surgery :P

I didn't like the message at all. I mean change yourself for someone? No. I don't like that whole cosmetic sugery thing. I didn't like that at all, but the movie was really good. It kept me entertained and it sure had it's funny moments. The end made me cry for some reason though. XD I'm a crier though, so maybe that's why?

I'd give it a 7 out of 10. :)

It was an ok movie. The initial idea, the concept, the intention was interesting but I think it could have been much better; or should I say it was not up to my expectations.
First I didn’t like the fact that they made a thin actress look fat. It just looked weird and unnatural. I wish they had just casted a real fat girl.
And then the whole plastic surgery thing… no comment on that. But to me it would have been better if she had found love and happiness as a real fat girl. Because in the end she’s skinny and beautiful and happy. Whereas to me the real inspiration lies in the fact that someone that might not be hot in the eyes of the world can be happy and loved.
So to me this movie failed to achieve its purpose.
But still have a good time watching it.

this movie's message wasnt clear to me and cause im not pro plastic surgeries (even though the movie did show the fact that she wasnt necessarily happy after she was beautiful) showing that changing yourself for others is not the best thing to do.yet it did make me cry at somemoments so i wouldnt say its a bad movie!!:)

@shallamar: I liked that part too. I was wondering if I was the only one who felt that way. A lot of people seem to be fixated on the fact that she felt she needed plastic surgery to be happy and they think that is the message the movie gives. What they are missing is that even with it she wasn't happy. In the end she was miserable because she felt she lost sight of who she really was. She wasn't truly happy until she accepted her old self.

really enjoyed this movie! I didn't like the whole plastic surgery will fix it, but I did like how even with it in the end she admitted she missed her old self ^^
