Recommendations

Both dramas are about the otaku culture in Akihabara.

It's about how bunch of otaku are trying to support each other through a website. In Densha Otoko they are trying to support one member's otaku love relationship, while in Akihabara@deep they are gathering together to fight against bullies. It's about their friendship and the way they support each other, and of course it's about Akihabara and the mania of the anime otaku.

I was expecting nothing of this drama, but it has surprised me! (It's not a masterpiece, but it's funny!)

Akihabara@Deep is a nice drama full of anime and drama references, but that's not all; is an story about friendship, courage and different people who can surpass their own problems for a common purpose, save their loved Akihabara!

If you love Akiba culture and references, you'll probably enjoy this drama :)

akihabara@deep was surprisingly good to watch. I was expecting less from a late night drama, but I think all the characters were portrayed well. It honestly put me at the edge of my seat at some times, and gave insight into otaku culture in an entertaining way.

This is in no way a masterpiece, but worth watching nonetheless.

What a crazy over-the-top drama! I started watching this with no expectations at all, just wanted to see how akihabara was since I'll go to Tokyo next summer, but it turned out to be a very fun drama. I have to admit: it sucks hard technically and I almost dropped it after 10 minutes or so, but on the other hand the story was awesome (gets better after 2 or 3 episodes) and there was a great chemistry between the characters, I really dug this drama. 4/5

Quirky underdogs coming together as a team - what's not to like? Watch for something whacky and underrated.
