I have no friends (Sakura you don't count here because you told me about this site). I also realized I have no about me section.

So here is my about section, and as the famous saying goes:

I have built it, now they will come....

Hey! I'm doing a master thesis about Korean culture in Europe, so I wanted to ask you if you could help out with my research and maybe share that with your European friends. I need to get as many European kpop/kdrama/kmovie fans as possible for the research to be good. I prepared a survey - so people just need to contact me by writing me an email to and I'll send them the survey. I hope you'd be able to help me - it's extremely important to me and would mean a lot! Thanks a lot and I hope I'll soon hear from you!!

I'm going to have to agree with you, LOL. I did think it was kinda funny in the beginning though because of how cheesy/bad it is, but yeah it just dragged and didn't really have a point unless one was a fan of the anime/manga that it's based on.

The actress is very attractive and has a nice body. Even though the movie is supposed to have a magical girl kind of feeling (like Sailor Moon), it somehow comes off a "dirty" in some way, LOL. They kept putting her in sexy outfits and there was this one part later on, I could have sworn it was like the camera man was kinda indirectly focusing on her butt as she was bending over or something xD

Yes the special effects were really bad, but I think that it's because it's not really a "movie" it's like one of those tokusatsu series (think Power Rangers-like) that is the length of a movie. And it's kinda appealed towards younger viewers, but obviously with the attractive actress, appeal to some older pervy guys as well, haha.

I also gave it a 1/5 (and yes I kinda sat through the whole thing - the horror!)

Don't know if you've ever seen the live action Sailor Moon series but yeah, this movie totally reminded me of that. I'm a big fan of Sailor Moon but errr, the live action series was just terrible. Terrible acting, terrible special effects, etc. but people seem to like it anyway *shrugs*

I'm still looking through your pics on PhotoBucket btw, hehe.

Anything you'd be up for watching next?

Ok I don't have too much of an opinion of The Ring Virus. I wasn't really that big of a fan of the American Ring (it definitely had it's moments but I didn't think it was anything that great), but errr, I really didn't care much about The Ring Virus, LOL.

2/5 for me :P

Yes, yes, please share your Japan pics with me, LOL. *waits for some links*

Hmm . . . my cousin seemed to enjoy Cutie Honey so I'd be up for that next week, just nothing this week because work has been killing me. After a year of just working 1 job, I'm back to working 2 jobs again >_<

LOL, I liked that part too in DMC when he's all pounding on the window and from the girl and her mom's point of view, it looked like he was attacking them/trying to scare them out, when really he's just all emotional about that girl that he likes xD

The manager can be annoying sometimes, especially in the manga when she always seems to wreck Negishi's plans, but she is also hilarious how she is always demanding that she wants something that will make her wet - oh my!

I love how the movie pretty much captures the feeling of the manga (though since it's a movie it leaves out some of the more funnier parts from the manga). The actor that plays Negishi/Krauser was perfect.

I also love how everyone seriously acts like Krauser is some kind of demon god that just pops up from out of nowhere (like when he shows up to his younger brother at his family's farm). And I loved the part when he showed up on stage during that Power Rangers thing, and some little boy in the audience commented, "Wow, he looks really strong!" thinking that he's a bad guy and part of the act :P

3/5 for me.

Oh, you should share some of your pictures from Japan with me xD

I'm actually watching all of The Ring Virus today (right before I go out of town). So I won't get back to you with my thoughts on that until next week.

Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Yup, that is the plan. I already have DMC downloaded too. Can't wait to watch it.

And yes, it's a movie date, LOL.

I'd be up for The Ring Virus right after DMC. I'm curious to see how the Korean version is, hehe.

LOL at your About Me xD

LOL, while Gackt does look good for his age (he's like in his late 40s now or so), he still doesn't pass for a high school kid, haha.

Even anyone from Johnny's Entertainment would have been a better fit for Koyuki (my bad - they call him Koyuki not Kyosuke LOL). They all sing and almost all of them already act in jdramas and jmovies anyway. Oh well . . .

Haha, I can kinda see that with the guy that played Ryosuke. I think it's because they over-plucked his eyebrows to make make him look more like the character (and the hairstyle too). The actor does not normally have eyebrows like that and his hair is naturally curly/wavy.

Sure, if you don't mind re-watching DMC again. I'll try and download it to my desktop tomorrow (currently on my laptop) just so that I have it ready to watch.

LOL, I do agree about the gymnastics chick. She was rather weird/creepy looking. What were they thinking when they casted her?! She looked like she belonged more in a horror movie xD

I'm annoyed that we didn't get to hear any of Kyosuke's singing either. I'm starting to think that maybe the actor for Kyosuke couldn't really sing and maybe they didn't really want to have him lip sync over someone else's voice either so they decided to go for the imagine-how-godly-his-voice-really-sounds effect instead. Boooooo >_<

If that were the case, then why didn't they just cast a singer that could actually act (there are definitely a lot of Japanese singers that act too) or even an actor that could actually sing (duh).

Other than that, I pretty much loved the movie and I enjoyed watching Beck translated into live-action - it turned out pretty good compared to some other live-action movies based on anime/manga. I also thought that the music and casting was pretty good. The actor that plays Ryosuke really does looks like him, LOL. Oh and the actor was raised in Switzerland, that's why his English is pretty darn good (I don't know about the actress that played Maho but her English was pretty good too).

I also gave the movie a 4/5. Kinda makes me want to watch the live-action Detroit Metal City movie (which I have yet to see).

Anyway . . . anything new that you want to watch for next week? LOL, it has to be next week because I will be busy again for the next couple of days and I don't even know if I'll be home much this weekend to even start on something new.
